uPVC Tilt and Turn Window – Right Open Over Fixed – Double Glazing

Description

Tilt and turn windows offer two different opening methods. They have hinges on the bottom (opening at the top) and hinges on the side (opening on the opposite side). This dual function operates by the window opening inwards, rather than a standard casement window which opens outwards.

Tilt and turn windows are popular if the building is in close proximity to another building and opening outwards is restricted.

Also, due to the nature of the windows they are easy to clean, good for ventilation and security.

U-values as low as 1.2 can be achieved with a double-glazed unit and 0.8 with a triple-glazed unit.

How To Order

  1. Choose your product from our website.
  2. Measure your window and door openings. Please remember all dimensions are to be taken externally. See our measuring guide if you are unsure (remember to allow for tolerances when installing).
  3. Input your dimensions into our online pricing engine and proceed to the checkout and pay.
  4. Once we have received your order, you will receive an Order and Payment Confirmation.
  5. Within 24 hours you will receive a delivery date.
  6. Production time can vary from 10-12 days depending on product and ordering day.
  7. If you are unsure about anything in your order please drop us an email or give us a call and we will be more than happy to assist.

Measuring Windows

  • All measurements to be taken from external openings
  • When measuring always measure in millimetres
  • Measure the width of the opening in 3 places:
    1. Bottom of opening left to right
    2. Middle of opening left to right
    3. Top of opening left to right
  • Measure the height of the opening in 3 places:
    1. Left of opening top to bottom
    2. Middle of opening top to bottom
    3. Right of opening top to bottom

Take the smallest measurement for the width and the smallest for the height and take off 10mm off each of them e.g.

Window opening = 1800mm width x 1000mm height

Deduct 10mm from the width and height = 1790mm width x 990mm height

The above dimensions will be the manufacturing/order sizes that you will need to input when ordering windows and doors from our website.

You deduct 10mm from the width and height to allow for tolerance when fitting.

10 Year Guarantee

We give a 10-year guarantee on all bespoke PVC-U products, which you buy from Window Supply Direct LTD. This guarantee is to be read in conjunction with the Terms and Conditions.

We guarantee that our products will not:

  • Warp
  • Discolour
  • Lose their strength
  • Rot
  • Peel or crack

There is a 5-year guarantee on all glazed units. This includes a break down of the unit, which could give the appearance of misting in the glass.

This guarantee does not include broken units after they have been delivered.

We offer a 12-month guarantee on all hardware including handles, locks and hinges.

This guarantee does not guarantee the product against general fair wear and tear of the item.

General fair wear and tear on products which is not included in the guarantee include:

  • Scratches on handles, glass, frames, trickle vents and hinges
  • Damage to letter boxes
  • Broken keys in locks

Looking After Your New PVC-U Windows and Doors

General Maintenance

  • Use warm soapy water to clean frames with soft cloth or soft bristled brush
  • Use non-alkaline solution when cleaning the frames
  • Do not use strong abrasive cleaners, wire brushes or wire wool when cleaning.
  • Lubricate moving parts annually.

U-Values

U-Values (Average)

The U-Value is the measure of how much heat escapes through a material. For windows and doors, it specifically tells you how effective they are at keeping heat inside your home. Think of it as an insulation rating: the lower the U-Value number, the better the product is at preventing heat loss. Modern double glazing achieves a low U-Value by trapping inert gas between two panes of glass, while triple glazing adds a third pane and an extra gas-filled cavity, resulting in an even lower U-Value and superior thermal performance for maximum energy savings and comfort.

  • Double Glazed 28mm: Average U-value for a uPVC window/door is 1.3 – 1.4.
  • Triple Glazed 36mm: Average U-value for a uPVC window/door is 1.0 – 1.2.
  • All windows and doors conform to the latest building regulations.
  • The coating on the inner pane of the unit reflects the heat back into the room.
    This makes a real difference during the winter months, which helps to reduce heating costs.

Shipping

  • The lead-time for our standard colour UPVC doors and windows is 10-12 working days.
  • The lead-time for special order colours is 12-15 working days. Please ring up for a quote if you require these non-stock colours.
  • The lead-time for our composite doors is 6-11 working days.
  • Please arrange for a physically able person(s) to unload your goods at the point of delivery.
  • The delivery point will be to a ground floor location.
  • You will be notified by email with regards to the progress of your order throughout the process.

Returns

  • If your goods are faulty in any way due to manufacturing or delivery issues, the Customer has the right to return the goods for a replacement or a full refund.
  • Goods that have been ordered, and are deemed faulty due to misinformation being given to the Company cannot be returned.
  • Due to the nature of the business all our products are bespoke. We cannot be held responsible for incorrect dimensions.
  • All products are checked prior to delivery and you the customer must inspect all products prior to installation, including dimensions.
